70th Anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino (18.05.2014)

  • This battle of Allies forces against German Wehrmacht in Italy took place in 1944, January 17 – May19.
  • Poppy-Flower became the symbol of battle as the Polish soldiers song, composed during this event, say: “the poppy-flowers are so red because they are from Polish Blood”.
